Description

A delicious homemade version of the classic Big Mac burger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 sesame seed burger buns
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 6 dill pickle slices
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Mix mayonnaise, relish, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to make the Big Mac sauce and chill it.
  2. Toast the top bun, bottom bun, and middle bun layer in butter until golden.
  3. Form ground beef into two very thin patties and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook patties over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Spread sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, pickles, cheese, and the first patty.
  6. Add the middle bun, more sauce, lettuce, and the second patty.
  7. Finish with the top bun, press gently, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding hot sauce to the Big Mac sauce.
  • Letting the sauce chill for a while enhances the flavor.
